The diversified and widespread institutional activities of Italian Carabinieri Corps involves a complex risk assessment not only based on the methodology established by current law. In this paper, possible issues due to the implementation of health and safety in the workplace regulations as well as NATO risk assessment doctrine for military operations are discussed. The result is that certain peculiar risks can be evaluated through an "epidemiological surveillance" of military homogeneous groups.
