The role of the occupational physician as a "global consultant" for the protection of workers' health is extremely important in high complexity workplaces, such as healthcare organizations. The single operator's wellness and his compatibility with work tasks performed are crucial for consolidation of the enterprise organizational health. For this purpose, occupational medicine contributes to prevent the most frequent work-related diseases in health care facilities (i.e. musculoskeletal disorders and work-related stress) and supports the employers to manage the worker unfit or fit to work with restrictions. This paper describes an efficient model of Disability Management at work, applied in a pediatric healthcare facility.
